I have reached the age where friends face serious health challenges. My grown children have the issues you'd expect at their stage in life. There is darkness but if you look for it there is light.
I have good friends, my husband and I are in good health and there are the small delights like moments with my grandchildren. So, lest I become maudlin, it's time to share some of the humour of everyday life.
The Oilers are still losing. In itself, that isn't humourous, but what is, is the regular shouts of delight, yells of distress and loud coaching that I hear as Gary loyally watches every game. The dogs only care that they have food and warmth and even though it's cold outside, they go out more often than necessary. I think they're having trouble believing winter is actually here.
I've been married a long time and often write about everyday events.
